When dating, it’s important to be smart and aware. One thing to remember in the early stage of dating is you are actually not trying to create a relationship, you are doing what I call Due Diligence. This is the time when you check him out to see if he is the kind of man you would want to build a relationship. Red flags are there to show you potential problems. When something happens that gets that red flag waving, pay attention. It’s your gut telling you something isn’t right.

Two questions that can help you decide about a man are the following:
1) Is this a man you would want to be the father of your children (it doesn’t matter if you want kids or not)
2) Is this someone you would proud to introduce to your father (it doesn’t matter if you have a father but if you have to imagine one, make it the kind that adores his daughter.)

This takes the emotion and feelings out of the equation so you can be smart about who he is.
